The sturdy plywood boxes were a Bowman feature and amply protect the engine. If plywood was not used then engines were packed into distinctive striped cardboard boxes, this came about as due to the demand for their engines they could not keep up with the demand for the wooden variety!

The M140 pictured here is basically a twin cylinder version of the M158 The engine being used in Bowman's steam boats). The Chimney is a dummy and just sits on the steam dome. This engine is not common and is very sought after by collectors even more than the M122 in my view.
